By International airline

From Europe you can choose a variety of airlines to either Johannesburg or Cape Town International. From there you can either hire a car, or you can transfer to one of two airlines to Kimberly. From Kimberly it is only 1 hour south West by car on the R357 highway to Douglas. If necessary we can collect you from Kimberly airport.

By road to Douglas:

By car, Johannesburg to Douglas is about 6 hours, and Cape Town to Douglas is about 10 hours. The drive will take you on the N12 through Potchefstroom and while you are there make a turn to the JS1 Sailplanes factory and pay them a visit but best to make an appointment with them. Keep on going on the N12 till you reach the town of Kimberly (The big whole) and then you take the route to Douglas on the R357.  As you approach Douglas at the T junction the airfield is straight in front of you, turn right heading for Douglas town and about 15 meters turn left to the airfield.

From Cape Town, you take the N1 up to Three Sisters and take a left turn to Victoria West which is the N12 and follow the road through Hope town to Kimberly still on the N12. About 15 km out of Hope Town, take the gravel road to Douglas, the R385.  Please take note that it is a dirt/ gravel road to Douglas or you can turn left Just after Britstown about 10km and drive the N10 to Prieska until you get to the intersection of Prieska and Douglas the R357. Turn and follow the road until you get into Douglas. Drive through town and follow the road going out to Kimberly, the R357 and about 6km out of Douglas town the airfield is on the right alongside to the main road.
